Unlocking Untapped Potential
This picture, taken in a musty bathroom in Iraq in the later summer of 2021, may look like just any other bathroom selfie, but to me, this picture captures a moment and a version of myself I'll never forget.
A version of me that was proud and confident and excited for the future. A version of me that was finally waking up to my own potential.
As someone who has always struggled with not feeling enough, I'll never forget looking at this picture and realizing that's bullsh*t. I am enough.
I embarked on that deployment with the goal of really taking the time to invest in myself. Intentionally putting effort into answering questions like:
What is most important to me?
What do I love doing?
How can I share that with others?
And man did it pay off. I was doing the work and seeing the results. Sure, not every day was perfect and I definitely wasn't always my best, but I was acting intentionally and reclaiming control of what my life and my future held. I was speaking into existence a future for myself that was far beyond anything I had ever previously imagined.
I'll never forget one of our surgeons looking at me during that trip and saying, "Colleen, why flip burgers when you could own the restaurant? Your potential is unlimited."
That stuck with me and continues to stay with me. I had never truly allowed myself to see that for myself, but once I did, it changed everything.
I was stepping into a new state of self that was thriving- rooted in my pursuit of purpose and fueled by my untapped potential.
Four years later, I realize that what I learned over those 9 months and the years since then are lessons that I want to share with others.
I want to help others to recognize their untapped potential- see that vision of their ideal self and then take action towards becoming that person.
There are few things as priceless as truly seeing what your life can look like when you start to tackle the doubts and the barriers around your potential and step into that version of you that is just absolutely thriving.
What becomes possible when you're living the example of your best self?
